Overview
As a UI/UX designer at Demystifyd, I developed a new ‘Job Hub’ where users can get extensive information on visa processes, company insights, and an AI Job Finder.
I worked closely with the founder, developers, and marketing team to ensure a smooth launch.
HIGHLIGHTS
CONTEXT
Understanding immigrants and the brand.
Lack of career support.
Due to the lack of resources to guide immigrants through their visa process and finding a job, my role was to provide curated resources to help support them as much as possible. The first step being understanding this large but nuanced user group.
THE PROBLEM
Exploring approaches to assist foreign nationals.
Balancing a range of objectives.
The challenge.
Aligning user needs with business goals to achieve the best possible outcome.
DESIGN PROCESS
Forming the framework for the project.
The essential features.
I created a site map to set all the features that needed to be included. The goal in mind being organizing the core components.
First prototype.
Initial design review.
My responsibility was to design a job board, company insights page, and and AI Job Finder.
Reviewing the feedback.
Making necessary changes.
More iterations.
Mobile development.
After going through multiple rounds of iterations, I began to create the mobile development.
Overhauling the mobile version.
FINAL DESIGNS
Enabling a streamlined experience.
Refining the look.
I designed the ‘Job Hub’ on Demystifyd to support foreign nationals and immigrants in their careers. Curated resources are presented to users in a digestible way to ensure a seamless experience.
RETROSPECTIVE
Evaluating the iterative process.
Successful design hand-off.
Through many hours of designing and meetings, the team and I were able to successfully develop the new feature by our deadline. The feedback was essential to ensure that design was ready for users.
It was a long but rewarding process on developing a new feature, and I gained valuable insights into balancing business goals with user needs.
Future steps.
Cross-functional collaboration
It’s very important to check in regularly with developers to ensure complex ideas are understood
Iterations and feedback
Through multiple rounds of iterations, the design still needed work. No design is perfect and can always be improved
